It is our vision to strive to develop roles of community citizenship for the people we serve.

ECDC's philosophy of providing services to individuals revolves around a number of aspects.  Promoting independance is of the utmost importance.  We have found that the individuals we provide service to grow immensely when thay are empowered to make their own decisions and control the dierction of their own lives.

Another important aspect in providing services is encouragement because it allows individuals to take risks, care about one another, develop a community of their own (without care givers), develop family relationships attain a positive sense of self, and discover new ways to communicate with people.

ECDC is committed to creating opportunities for the poeple we serve to become fully integrated in the communities by providing a wide range of choices that promote individual decision making, encourage family involvement, and emphasize individual and family participation.

We work with Staff to enable them to provide comprehensive services in the least intrusive manner possible, to recognize issues of safety and the importance of minimizing their own values on the lives of the individuals they assist.  The importance of listening, observing, asking, and discovering is our challenge.  Creating the atmosphere conductive to clear communication is one of our highest priorities.  This ensures individuals their dignity of choice.

Our staff are constantly challenged to be person-centered and creative in their approach to support service delivery.

WE BELIEVE THAT ANY PERSON CAN LIVE THEIR DREAMS AND HOPES IN THE COMMUNITY AS LONG AS THE PROPER SUPPORTS ARE AVAILABLE.
